My first successful webpage... I decorated with pictures I took, enjoy! Beautiful Mary Washington College campus, in the fall, the leaves change and it is very difficult to not enjoy them. I took a lot of pictures of the trees last year, so this year I concentrated on close ups.
Richmonders love the Pony Pasture, a somewhat jewel of the city until the more recent years. Still a popular place though. This picture was taken on a beautiful day... the light hit the water as if they came from stars buried under sand. MWC Leaves and James River (i.e. Pony Pasture)
Wupatki National Monument This past summer, my older sister got a job through the SCA and worked in Flagstaff. I drove with her out to Arizona and stayed with her for a week. She researched rare and endangered plant species in the park, and i got to go about with her on the general tours of the area. She lived at Sunset Crater Nat. Monument behind the visitors center and worked in the three monuments of Flagstaff. Sunset Crater, a cindercone volcano, is very beautiful. 900 years ago it spewed cinders all over the area and lava flows creeped from it's base. Wupatki Nat. Monument is about 15 miles from sunset and is just above the Painted Desert. Also covered in cinders, you can see ancient lava flows and remainders of brick buildings done by the Native Americans (which tribe i can't recall). The other Nat. Mon. was Walnut Canyon, also the home of ancient indian dwellings, but as the "canyon" part of the title suggests, they are of the cliff dwelling type.
